Choir Stole Saturday Work Sessions
Time: 9 a.m to noon
Dates: October 15th and 22nd
The choir stole committee is in need of help to accomplish our goal of completing our cutting out of choir stole fabric by our goal of October 22nd. Each work session is organized into assembly line work teams with mentors who provide assistance and overview of the project.
We are in need of individuals with or without experience, cutting boards, fabric scissors or cutting wheels for each session until we complete our task of cutting 80 yards of fabric. The more helping hands we have the faster this task will be accomplished. Coffee, fruit and sweet rolls will be provided.
Our weekly Wednesday 5p.m work sessions are productive and fun. Followed by a 6p.m. community dinner. Please join us in our collective effort to finish the choir stoles by Christmas.

BUF Choir Stole Project
BUF Choir Stole
Project
When
Work sessions every Wednesday at
5-6pm, followed by $5 fun community dinner (optional)
There will be no session on November
23rd.
Goals
Enjoy fellowship and friendship while
producing 80 choir stoles by December 21st.
Process
Assembly line method, working in teams
to cut, pin, sew and iron.
All skill levels welcome. Work will
have oversight by team members.
Organization
Each
Wednesday, work stations will get set up by 4:30 p.m. in the library.
Visiting will
be accompanied by a progression of tasks for individuals and teams.
There will be
a lot of repetitive tasks that can be learned with the assistance of team
mentors. People with a proficient skill set for sewing will be assigned to one
of our two sewing machines and have the added support of teams to iron and give
a final overview of the final product.
Storage
All work related equipment and
materials can be safely stored in our designated locked storage area. If
individuals wish to store items please write your name on anything that you
would like returned. We will need to finish our sessions and clean up before
the community meal.
Questions
As our project coordinator it is my
hope that we grow strong as a team and enjoy the process as much as the
satisfaction of accomplishing our goal. If anyone has any questions please feel
free to contact me any time. I value your volunteer time and will do my part to
organize our time as efficiently as I am able.

Welcome back message from Kevin
Dear BUF Singers and Friends
I am excited about getting our BUF choirs going again! Our first rehearsal will be on September 7.
More info about the year, including our Transylvania Pilgrimage, will be coming out in a few days.
In the meantime, here’s the low-down:
BUF Chalice Choir
-Mixed choir, all welcome, no auditions, no previous choral experience necessary
-rehearse Wednesdays 6:45-8pm in the BUF Sanctuary, starting on September 7
-Please bring potential new members along, whether they have sung in choir before or not.
-Sunday Performances: Sep 11; Oct 2; Nov 6; Dec 4; Jan 8; Feb 5; Mar 5; Apr 16
-2 Special Events: Dec 15 Evening Solstice Concert; Feb 12 Afternoon Interfaith Festival
Phoenix Ensemble
-Used to be called Chamber Choir
-Select SATB ensemble, 16-20 voices, must also be a member of Chalice Choir
-rehearse Wednesdays 8:10-9pm in the BUF Sanctuary, starting September 14
-Sunday Performances: Sep 25; Oct 23; Nov 20; Jan 29; Feb 26; Mar 26
-Other community performances to be announced
-fun, user-friendly auditions will be held after the Chalice choir rehearsal on September 7
-Singers can’t also be in Womens Ensemble, because the two groups practice at the same time
I’ll be looking for a quartet of section leaders. It would be nice for these 4 singers to be in both choirs
and to be able to sight-sing a part without help from the piano.
